Let's first talk about the actual location of Southeast Portland. It is located east of Burnside and the Willamette River.  When recommending East Portland areas as a place to move to, our general rule is to recommend anything between block 50 and downtown. There are some areas that are a little more dangerous than others, but you can also find safe areas further east.

Similarly to the homes for sale in Portland OR, Southeast Portland's outer areas are rapidly becoming more gentrified. From block 50 onwards, almost every inch of these areas has been gentrified. One example is South Burnside, which was once considered a rough area. However, it has seen a significant improvement in its appearance since then. This is typical of larger trends in gentrification in Southeast Portland.

You'll be pleasantly surprised to find that there are still some great homes for sale in Southeast Portland with large yards at a lower price than other areas. You can make a smart purchase of a home in Southeast Portland while it is still growing and you will be able to watch your property increase in value, which is always nice.
